Bible Believer- A person who is at the core of their conscience and being, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, physically and/or culturally persuaded that the Bible is the word of God, the book of salvation, and the best instruction to live by on this earth.
Evangelical- A person who is at the core of their conscience and being, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, physically and/or culturally persuaded that each person must have a personal encounter with God (a Born Again Experience) and it is vital that everyone has the opportunity to hear about God's love and forgiveness through Christ. This person believes that anyone, whether homosexual, heterosexual, thief, prostitute, and human being can be find God provided that they repent of their sins as noted in the Bible and trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Traditionalist- A person whom at the core of their conscience and being, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, physically, and/or culturally feels and is persuaded that traditional biblical values concerning faith, morals, gender, relationships (males and female, husband and wife), marriage, sex, and sexuality are heathly and necessary for the maintenance of the human race and a healthy society. This is not to be confused with the traditions of men. Rather, this represents Christians who stand upon Traditional or Orthodox Christian teachings and values. This person may/may not have it perfect in their own life but at the core of their being are persuaded and attracted to it's teachings.
Families of Faith- A person whom at the core of their conscience and being, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, physically, and/or culturally feels and is persuaded that faith in God and in his Son Jesus Christ is necessary and important for this life and the hereafter. Families of Faith have traditional moral values and expressions and who strive to live and preserve this faith and feel deeply wounded when forced by others to eat things, do things, listen to things, or have their children learn things that undermine or oppose their beliefs and conscience. (Example: Forcing a Jew to eat pork, a Muslim woman to expose her hair, Catholic/Christian Children forced to learn contrary to their religious beliefs and conscience concerning traditional moral values and sexuality insinuating their religions opinions on the matter is archaic and evil (This is a violation of Universal Declaration of Rights Article 26 Point 1-3).
Fundamentalist- A person whom at the core of their conscience and being, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, physically, and/or culturally feels and is persuaded that living by foundational and fundamental religious principles give stability to their faith and allow the right practice to be achieved. The term is also used as an insult and usually referring to people who take their faith seriously by living out their faith. Using this term as an insult is discrimination because it often makes people feel that if they try to live like Jesus or take the Bible at face value, they are crazy and fanatics which is simply not true.
Christian- A person who has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and is born again by the Holy Spirit. These people at the core of their conscience andd being, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually, physically, and/or culturally daily express themselves in their behaviour and emotions in such a way that is in alignment and allegiance to the traditional values and teachings of the Holy Bible. Their inward being and inclination propels them to believe in God and his Son Jesus Christ who who is fully God and fully man, who died and rose for them, the need of repentance from sin as defined in the Holy Bible, and to express themselves through sharing the gospel, living holy lives, showing acts of kindness, modelling forgiveness, dressing modestly and having discussions inclusive of faith, morality, traditional values, faith, and spirituality with others. Every human being expresses their worldview, beliefs, values. and spirituality on a daily basis in a variety of ways which makes it discriminatory to single out those with traditional values. The BETFC community (aka the Christian Community) has rights as well. Please see the statement of faith known as the Universal Christian Creed representing standard Christian Teachings. BETFC- is a acroynm used to denote identities of individuals and groups, and is to be understood as believers in Jesus as Lord and Savior and identify holistically as Bible Believers, Evangelicals, Traditionalists, Families of Faith, Christians (terms representing the Christian community).
Discriminatory Practices against the BETFC community:
Discrimination takes many forms. It exists between and within individuals, and across institutions and cultures. It is most commonly referred to as Christophobia or Biblephobia. It is manifested through social and media bullying, the denial of human rights through processes of silencing, exclusion and ostracization, marginalization and institutionalized prejudice and in growing cases through violence and verbal abuse.
The assumption and demand by individuals, institutions, media and recent societal customs that everyone must hold to non-traditional beliefs and values and approve of same-sex marriage, homosexual behavior, premarital sex, abortion, vulgar and immodest behavior, adultery, drunkeness, pornography is a violation of all Human Rights Codes. The demand that the the BETFC community must embrace the belief that it is normal, natural, healthy, rational, and mature for humans to engage in and bond lustfully, sexually, affectionally, and emotionally with a person of the same sex and engage in behaviours like cross dressing, anal intercourse, semen consumption, orgies, and sex through unnatural means like dildo's is a violation of conscience. The condescending tone given towards the BETFC community and their allies for their expressed values concerning gender orientation, gender identity and sexual practices is a form of Biblephobia, Evangelphobia, Traditionphobia, Faithphobia, and Christophobia. The systemic societal promotion of homosexuality and secularism, and the simultaneous stigmatization of Christians and Traditionalists, and its allies is discrimination and forms of hatred.
Discriminatory Terminology (Phobia's) against the BETFC community:
Biblephobia- Conscious or unconscious hatred of, fear of, and discrimination against the Bible and Bible Believers. This phobia is based in a belief system and set of priorities that assert unbelief in the Bible as "normal", and that Bible Believers and those with Christian beliefs are deviant, superstitious, insane, abnormal, criminal or sinful. Biblephobic feelings can be described as fear, hatred, disgust, etc.
Evangelphobia Conscious or unconscious hatred of, fear of, and discrimination against Evangelicals or those who share the gospel. Most Evangelicals and people who share the gospel were once secular in mindset and many are coming from homosexual/Lesbian backgrounds and have discovered happiness and a new way to live and desire and are oriented to live according to Christian beliefs and express it through sharing it with others. Evangelphobia is often characterized by a lack of understanding and misunderstanding of what the Gospel truly is. While the gospel calls for repentance and trust in God, it is offered to all people regardless of their background.
Traditionalphobia The negative valuing and discriminatory treatment of individuals who do not conform in thoughts, words, or practices of current social and secular values concerning how one ought to think about God, this world, family, and sexuality. Traditionalist Christians and those with traditional views are typically the targets of Traditionalphobia and are often called names like bigots, fundamentalists, archaic, uneducated the moment they express what they think, feel, or believe. Traditionphobia can be personal or systemic, overt or covert, and intentional or unintentional.
Faithaphobia Conscious or unconscious hatred of, fear of, and discrimination against families or people of faith. Typically demonstrated through disrespect, denial of rights and needs, social conversations and the workplace, and leave faith talk for the church. This bigotry is seen in that while everyone is free to talk about things that would offend a person of faith and a worldview that expresses faith in other things other than God or the Bible (or about God and the Bible in a negative light), those who chose to talk about faith in the positive are silenced. At times, those who chose to practice and share their faith lose their employment, face ostracization, harassment and violence.
Christophobia The negative valuing and discriminatory treatment of individuals who do not conform in appearance and/or identity to secular values and beliefs. Christianity is a disgust towards those exercise Christophobia. Often, Christians are called bigots, fundamentalists, and other names and refused employment. Christians walk in fear requesting time to rest on the sabbath day, fear to express their beliefs and faith, and walk on eggshells around people for fear that they will be ostracized and discriminated against. There is also a growing Christophobia in the media. Bible Believers, Evangelicals, Traditionalists, Fundamentalists, Families of Faith, Christians are typically the targets of Christophobia. Christophobia can be personal or systemic, overt or covert, and intentional or unintentional.
